A lorry has been left a charred wreck after catching fire on a motorway.

The LGV (large goods vehicle) was engulfed in flames northbound on the M74 at Junction 14, Crawford.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called in the early hours of Tuesday and extinguished the blaze.

However, the northbound carriageway remains closed at Junction 15 as recovery of the vehicle is made.

At 7.20am, Traffic Scotland announced the closure is expected to stay in place during rush hour.
