A body has been found in the search for a woman missing for four days from Inverness.

Eleanor Mallet had not been seen since around 1.30pm on Saturday, October 8, in the Milton of Leys area of the city and an appeal was launched to locate her shortly afterwards.

Officers studied CCTV footage and carried out door-to-door enquiries following her disappearance.

However, officers confirmed a body had been found in Inverness on Wednesday evening.

The 65-year-old’s family have been informed.

There are no apparent suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
