Man's body found on beach near high street as probe launched

An investigation is under way after a man’s body was discovered on a beach in East Lothian.

Emergency services were called to the beach near Prestonpans High Street at around 1.20pm on Thursday, March 2.

It is currently unknown if there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Police Scotland confirmed that enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We were made aware of the body of a man found on the beach near Prestonpans High Street around 1.20pm on Thursday, March 2.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
