A man has died after getting into difficulty while scuba diving off the coast of Fife.
Emergency services attended Kinghorn Beach on Sunday morning after the alarm was raised.
Diving teams, ambulance crews and police took part in the rescue operation, while a coastguard helicopter was seen landing on the beach.
Kinghorn RNLI was also tasked at approximately 9.10am on Sunday morning to assist a dive boat.
A man’s body was recovered from the water but he died a short time later.
Inquires in the the death are continuing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received report of a man having gotten into difficulty in the water following an organised dive near Kinghorn Beach around 9.55am on Sunday, 10 April, 2022.
“The man was recovered from the water but died a short time later.
“Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
