An appeal has been launched to identify a man who was found dead in water on Saturday afternoon.
The body was found near Glenwood Road in Glenrothes, Fife, just after 3pm.
Emergency services were called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the death is being treated as unexplained and they are yet to identify the man.
They are now asking for the public’s assistance and have released a description in hope that someone will recognise him.
He is described as being between 40 and 50 years old and around 5ft 8in tall with a medium to heavy build and dark greying hair.
When he was found he was wearing a long sleeved black top, blue jeans and dark trainers.
Detective Inspector Michael Lynch, of Glenrothes CID, said: “Our enquiries so far have not been able to identify the man and we are asking members of the public if they can assist with our investigation.
“We are looking to establish the man’s next of kin and would urge anyone who may be able to help with identification to get in contact with officers.”
