A major road was closed on Thursday after emergency services rushed to the scene of a vehicle on fire.
The A720 Edinburgh City Bypass was shut off for more than an hour from around 11am as fire crews battled the blaze.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent two trucks to the scene which left around half an hour later.
There were no reported injuries.
An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.59am on Thursday to reports of a vehicle on fire on the westbound carriage of the A720 at Lothian Burn Junction.
“Operations Control immediately mobilised two appliances to the scene and firefighters extinguished a car fire.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene at 11.36am after ensuring the area was made safe.”
