A woman has died after being hit by a police car in Liverpool on Christmas Eve.
Merseyside Police said they were called to reports shortly after 8pm of a collision involving a pedestrian and a police car on Sheil Road in the city .
The woman, in her 20s, was confirmed dead at the scene.
Police said she had not yet been formally identified but her next of kin have been informed and her family are being supported by specially trained officers.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been informed and attended the scene, the force said.
Anyone who saw the incident or captured anything on CCTV or dashcam is asked to contact police.
