Waitrose has issued an urgent recall notice on a snack due to the best before date being incorrect on the packaging.
Waitrose & Partners is recalling Essential Waitrose & Partners Seafood Sticks because the product shows the incorrect date, making it unsafe to eat.
The recall notice affects 250g packs with a best before of October 5, the retailer said in a notice issued via the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
The product is described as 16 individually wrapped textured white fish protein sticks.

Waitrose is urging customers who purchased the item not to consume them and to return it to a Waitrose branch for a full refund.
A Waitrose statement read: “We apologise that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused.
“If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”
Customers who require more information can contact Waitrose customer care team on 0800 188 884, Option 4.
