A SpaceX rocket exploded into a huge fireball shortly before taking off for a test flight on Wednesday night.
The incident happened as the company was preparing for the tenth flight test at Starbase, SpaceX’s launch site at the southern tip of Texas.
In a statement, the company said the Starship “experienced a major anomaly” while on the test stand.
No injuries have been reported and all personnel are accounted for.
Video footage shows the moment of the explosion as the rocket is engulfed by fire and black smokes rises into the sky.
CEO Elon Musk’s SpaceX said there were no hazards to nearby communities. It asked people not to try to approach the site.
The company said it is working with local officials to respond to the explosion.
This is the latest failed space flight from the company after a rocket spun of of control and fell into the Indian Ocean less than a month ago.
It was SpaceX’s third failed rocket in a row as the company hoped to launch a series of satellites into space in May.
The company confirmed that the rocket has burst apart and had experienced “a rapid unscheduled disassembly.”
