The Princess of Wales has pulled out of attending Royal Ascot at the last minute, as she continues to find the right balance following her treatment for cancer.
Kate is said to be disappointed at not attending the famous social and sporting occasion in Berkshire with her husband Prince William as well as the King and Queen.
It is understood Kate had been due to ride in the second carriage, as was announced by Royal Ascot just 20 minutes before her withdrawal.
In her absence, Prince William rode into the event in the first carriage, alongside the King and Queen.
The Princess last attended the sporting event in 2023 with her husband William and has been slowly increasing her royal engagements following her return to work after her cancer treatment.
Her public appearances have increased in recent weeks, attending three high profile events including Trooping the Colour, the annual Order of the Garter service and a visit to a V&A storage facility in London.

Kensington Palace announced Kate’s cancer diagnosis in March 2024, shortly after the announcement from the King about his own cancer diagnosis.
Kate confirmed she had entered remission in January of this year, marking the start of her gradual return to work.
