Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have welcomed their third child – a daughter.
The baby girl, who the couple have not yet named, was born on Monday at 6.20pm at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, weighing 6lb 9oz, Buckingham Palace said, and mother and baby are said to be doing well.
The princess shared the good news on Instagram, saying: “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie.”
The birth is a rare occasion where a member of the royal family has been born overseas, with Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank having a home and other connections in Portugal.
Princess Eugenie is the youngest daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, and her uncle is King Charles III.
In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”
Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank have two sons called August, aged five, and Ernest, aged three.
The Palace added that Princess Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank are deeply grateful to the hospital staff for their care.
They have not yet decided a name for their latest addition.
