The Sussexes landed in the UK from California on Wednesday afternoon, ITV News’ Leyla Hayes reports
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have arrived in the UK, landing at Birmingham airport at lunchtime on Wednesday.
It follows confirmation last week that the couple was set to move back to the country from California this month.
The Sussexes did not have a police presence and they left the airport without an escort.
ITV News understands that the children are with them.
ITV News understands the Duchess of Sussex had been offered an “on-screen acting role” when she moved to the UK, though it has not yet been confirmed whether it will be on television or film.
Australian outlet news.com.au first reported Meghan has been offered a role in the UK early on Friday.
The journalist who broke the story, Bronte Coy, told ITV News: “She is acting, she will be acting, she is returning to acting.”
She added: “This is her bread and butter.”
Coy did not say what kind of role Meghan would be playing, but she said it was “significant enough that it is a large part of her motivation for wanting to move here [the UK]”.
A spokesman for the duke and duchess has yet to comment.
It has previously been reported that the Duke and Duchess’s children, Archie and Lili, have been enrolled in British schools, ready to start in September.
The Sussexes are said to be settling in the UK for an “extended period” of time, amid speculation as to how long they will stay and where they will live, with the Cotswolds being suggested as the most likely destination.
Harry and Meghan, who are remaining as non-working royals, quit the monarchy six years ago, leaving to live in the US, from where they criticised both members of the royal family and the institution.
Their dramatic U-turn was revealed last week, but the pair have yet to speak publicly about their plans.
