Keir Starmer will face questions from the leader of the opposition and other MPs amid calls for a national inquiry into child sexual abuse.
The Prime Minister spoke out about “those spreading lies and misinformation” after tech billionaire Elon Musk accused him of being “complicit” in abuse.
The row erupted after it was reported that Home Office minister Jess Phillips had rejected Oldham Council’s request for a government-led inquiry into child sexual exploitation by grooming gangs.
Phillips insisted that the council should lead an inquiry instead.
Musk criticised Starmer for failing to prosecute gangs when he was head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
Kemi Badenoch has called for a national inquiry into child sexual abuse by the gangs and is expected to seek an amendment to Labour’s Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill.
The Prime Minister is expected to speak on the controversy and his plans for NHS reform in Parliament.
