iStockSouth Yorkshire PoliceA poster aimed at deterring any guisers has been made available to download by police this Halloween.
Officers released the poster which reads, ‘NO TRICK OR TREATERS’, along with a pumpkin scored out by a red line.
South Yorkshire Police encouraged people to place the poster on their window or door to let anyone taking part in activities that they do not want to be disturbed.
Silver Commander for Dark Nights, chief inspector Lee Carlson: “Your neighbourhood teams will be out and about in the evenings throughout this period, working hard to make sure that everyone can have an enjoyable and safe time.
“This is an extremely busy time for officers and our call handlers and I would urge people to think before calling 999 or 101.
“We need your support to ensure we are able to respond to the people who need us the most.
