NASA is set to publish its latest report on unidentified anomalous phenomena commonly known as UFOs.
There will be a live media briefing at the agency’s headquarters to discuss its latest findings.
It comes after the Mexican Congress was presented with two “alien corpses” by UFO expert Jamie Maussan who testified under oath that the specimens were not part of the human “terrestrial evolution”.
The organisation originally commissioned an independent study in 2022 and held its first briefing in July this year.
NASA defines UAP (unidentified anomalous phenomena) as observations of events in the sky that cannot be identified as aircraft or known natural phenomena from a scientific perspective.
There are currently a limited number of high-quality observations of UAP, which make it impossible to draw firm scientific conclusions about their nature, the agency said.
NASA will publish its unidentified anomalous phenomena team’s full report which is not a review or assessment of previous unidentifiable observations, but aims to inform on what data could be collected to “shed light on the nature and origin of UAP”.
NASA describes the team as “a counsel of 16 community experts across diverse areas on matters relevant to potential methods of study for unidentified anomalous phenomena”.
The agency commissioned the study to examine UAP from a scientific perspective and create a roadmap for how to use data and the tools of science to move our understanding of UAP forward.
The NASA website confirmed that the briefing will include:
• NASA Administrator Bill Nelson
• Nicola Fox, associate administrator, Science Mission Directorate, NASA Headquarters in Washington
• Dan Evans, assistant deputy associate administrator for research, NASA’s Science Mission Directorate
• David Spergel, president, Simons Foundation and chair of NASA’s UAP independent study team
The briefing comes just hours after two small, “mummified corpses” were displayed to Mexican politicians at Congress by journalist and ufologist Mr Maussan.
During the presentation, Mr Maussan told Congress: “These aren’t beings that were found after a UFO wreckage. They were found in diatom mines and were later fossilised”.
Mr Maussan also told those in attendance that the “alien corpses” are not part of the human “terrestrial evolution” under oath.
