Keir Starmer is facing Prime Minister’s Questions after announcing a new climate target and amid the announcement of plans for a “sweeping review” of NHS performance in England.
The Prime Minister announced a new target of reducing carbon emissions by 81% relative to 1990 levels by 2035 at the COP29 summit.
Shadow energy secretary Claire Coutinho claimed Starmer had not been clear about “what it will mean for British people”.
She added that “living standards must come first”.
Meanwhile, the health secretary delivered a speech at the NHS conference on Wednesday discussing his planned reforms to the NHS in England.
Plans, including hospital league tables, have been widely reported.
