Instagram appears to be down as thousands of users around the world have complained they have had issues accessing the social media platform.
The desktop version of the app went offline on Friday morning, leaving users unable to get online.
While the issues appeared to affect the website version, some users were unable to access the social media platform on Friday via the app.
On Downdetector.com, thousands of users reported an outage shortly after 2am (GMT).
The issues persisted into the early hours of the morning.
The app showed users error messages such as ‘sorry, couldn’t refresh feed’ and ‘something went wrong’.
