Farmfoods has issued an urgent recall notice over chicken nuggets due to allergy risks not declared on the label.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said the supermarket is recalling Qualiko Frozen Chicken Battered Premium Nuggets because they contain milk which is not mentioned on the label.

It means the 1kg item with batch codes 12123 and 12132 pose a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

Customers who purchased the items are being asked not to eat them if they have the allergies and to return it to the store it was purchased from for a full refund.

A statement from Farmfoods said: “If you have this product and have a milk allergy or suffer from lactose intolerance, please do not consume the product.

“Please return the affected product to the store where the product was purchased for a full refund. No receipt is required.

“We take consumer safety very seriously and sincerely apologise to our loyal customers for this situation and any inconvenience it may have casued.”

The FSA advised Farmfoods to contact relevant allergy support organisations to inform members about the recall.

Anyone with questions or concerns is asked to contact Farmfoods customer services on 0121 700 7160.
