The brother of Paul Pogba has claimed that he is planning to make “great revelations” about the Juventus star in an alleged extortion attempt.
Mathias Pogba, who played for Partick Thistle between 2015 and 2016, made the claim in videos he published on social media in English, French, Italian and Spanish.
In the footage, he vowed to make public “revelations” about his brother, as well as the agent of the Juventus midfielder, Rafaela Pimenta.
A statement signed by Paul, 29, along with his mother Yeo Moriba and Pimenta, stated that the videos were “unfortunately no surprise”.
“They are in addition to threats and extortion attempts by an organised gang against Paul Pogba,” it read.
“The competent bodies in Italy and France were informed a month ago and there will be no further comments in relation to the ongoing investigation.”
Mathias, 32, said that people need to know if his brother “deserves his place in the French team and the honour of playing in the World Cup”.
