An escaped capybara is likely to be “in paradise” as the search for the animal continues four days after it broke free from a zoo in England.
Cinnamon fled her habitat at Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World in Telford on Friday.
The search continued into Monday evening, however, there were no reported sightings of the escaped animal.
Despite the lack of sightings, Zoo Owner, Will Dorrell said they are not concerned about Cinnamon’s welfare adding that the area she is in is “Capybara paradise” with lots of woodland, streams, and natural food resources.
The zoo shared an update on Tuesday confirming that they would be conducting a “mass search” after receiving new information from local residents that suggested Cinnamon is living in and around the Humber Brook on their northern border.
Following the new information the zoo will search the area with the help of a local thermal camera drone operator and the keepers from Exotic Zoo who volunteered to help.
A spokesperson for the zoo said: “We are getting lots of offers of help from local residents and we would like to ask you to keep you eyes peeled and ring 07908726240 if you spot anything.
“Cinnamon is very timid and any attempt to capture her by untrained individuals could result in driving her further away from her home – which we want to avoid,” they said.
“Cinnamon is greatly loved and missed by her keepers who are continuing to give extra care to her parents and brother who remain at Hoo Zoo.”
