Beer giant Heineken has issued an urgent recall notice on bottles of ale after fragments of glass were found inside.

Customers who purchased 550ml bottles of Newcastle Brown Ale are being urged not to consume them after a small number of reports of glass fragments found when opening the bottles.

The bottles, with a best before date of November 30, 2025, have batch codes L4321 through to L4326 which can be found on the bottom right hand corner of the black label on the back.

Heineken said no other bottles of Newcastle Brown Ale or Heineken UK products are affected by the recall notice issued by the Food Standards Agency.

Customers are being urged to return the bottles to the store they purchased them, unopened, for a full refund.

No receipt is required.

A Heineken notice read: “If you have bought any of the above product do not drink it.

“Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund. For more information contact: consumercare@heineken.co.uk.”
