Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has married his long-term partner Georgina Rodríguez in a civil ceremony in Portugal.
The newlywed couple shared a picture of their wedding rings on Instagram, exactly a year after they announced their engagement.
The post soon racked up more than 24 million likes with fans all over the world sending their congratulations.
Internet personality Matty Farias commented: “Thank you for having me brother, the wedding was beautiful.”
The wedding was intimate, taking place in Cascais, a coastal resort town about 20 miles west of the Portuguese capital Lisbon. Their five children were among those who attended the ceremony.
The pair have been together for ten years and reportedly met in a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodríguez used to work.
On August 11, 2025, Georgina Rodríguez shared a picture of her engagement ring on social media with the caption: “Yes, I do. In this and all of my lives,” translated from Spanish.
Ronaldo, aged 41, tied the knot just four days before his club Al Nassr starts their 2026-27 Saudi Pro League campaign.
The Portuguese player is known worldwide for sporting talent. Ronaldo has scored nearly 1,000 goals in his football career, playing for teams including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Al Nassr and Portugal.
This year, he competed in his sixth World Cup and was the first player in history to play in the knockout stages aged 41 years or older.
Sadly, he did not make it to the quarter finals as Spain knocked out Portugal by scoring 1-0 in the round of 16 match in Texas.
As the wedding was private, there are no other images of the ceremony yet, or any details of a honeymoon.
