CCTV released of triple killer Kyle Clifford on the day of Bushey murders

Kyle Clifford stands accused of rape after admitting the murders of his former partner Louise Hunt, her sister Hannah and mother Carol.

CCTV footage has been released of triple killer Kyle Clifford on the day he fatally shot his former partner Louise Hunt and her sister Hannah with a crossbow and stabbed their mother, Carol, to death.

Clifford – who has already admitted to three counts of murder – is on trial for the rape of Louise before her death. A charge he denies.

In the videos shown to the court, Clifford is seen parking his car in the street near the Hunt’s family home before walking to the address and knocking on the door.

Footage from the front of the home, which wasn’t shared with media, shows Clifford on the doorstep as Carol, wife of BBC racing commentator John Hunt, answers the door.

Clifford then says he is “just dropping off some of Louise’s stuff”.

Mrs Hunt asks Clifford how he is and he replies: “I’m good, thank you. What’s wrong? You look like…”

Mrs Hunt responds: “I’ve seen a ghost.”

Prosecutors told Cambridge Crown Court that Clifford deceived Mrs Hunt to gain access to the address, saying he had got them a card “to say bye” and had brought items to return.

Prosecutors said: “As the defendant went into the door he took the backpack from his back and he spoke of the card.”

Further CCTV footage shows him leaving the address – to collect the crossbow from his car – returning with it hidden under a sheet and letting himself back into the house with a key.

Jurors were told Clifford waited at the house with the crossbow to kill his former partner, 25, and her older Hannah, 28, when she returned home from work.

Clifford then left the property, with the crossbow again underneath a sheet.

Other footage shown to the jury includes Clifford purchasing items for the attack including rope and petrol cans.

They were also shown footage of Clifford at a garden centre with his mother, father and niece on the morning of the murders.

Police say Clifford received an incoming call, which went to voicemail, from a woman “the defendant was in another relationship with at that time”.

Clifford, who is being tried in his absence, is alleged to have become “enraged” when Louise Hunt ended their 18-month relationship before he “carefully planned and executed” the murders.
