ITV News speaks to luxury wedding planner Sarah Haywood on what the Swift-Kelce wedding might look like
After months of speculation, Taylor Swift is just hours away from marrying Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The pop star and NFL player, both 36, are reportedly tying the knot at the famous arena following two days of celebrations that have been shrouded in secrecy.
Although the couple has not publicly confirmed any details of the wedding, crews have been seen unloading equipment, including a large carpet, from trucks outside Madison Square Garden.
According to people familiar with the planning, the days-long celebration will feature a cocktail hour, wedding celebration and then a reception.
An event believed to be the rehearsal dinner kicked off the couple’s multi-day nuptial festivities on Thursday.
New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a press conference on Wednesday that the department was monitoring an event at the New York arena.

“The NYPD will, of course, have a detail in place, but I’m not going to go into more specifics at this time,” she said.
New York City’s mayor, Zohran Mamdani, also confirmed that a permit was filed for a large event.
The event is due to take place over the July 4 weekend, which marks 250 years of US independence.
Among those expected to attend are Selena Gomez and the Haim sisters – Este, Danielle and Alana Haim – as well as supermodel Gigi Hadid. The Haim sisters and Hadid are rumoured to be bridesmaids.
Gomez, a longtime friend of Swift, was spotted wearing a black floral strapless gown and diamond earrings for what is thought to be a pre-wedding celebration.
Jack Antonoff, one of Swift’s signature collaborators and an ex-partner of Dunham, was also photographed making his way to the venue dressed in a suit.
Ed Sheeran, Sabrina Carpenter, Suki Waterhouse and several of Travis Kelce’s teammates from the Kansas City Chiefs have also all reportedly been seen in New York City ahead of the event.
The starting five from the New York Knicks – Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns – have also reportedly been invited following the team’s NBA title victory a few weeks ago.
Swift and Kelce have reportedly invited 1,000 guests to the Friday evening do.
Ahead of the wedding, the couple donated $26 million (£19.4 million) to charity.
The 20 charities receiving donations include nine food banks, an animal cruelty organisation, seven educational programmes, and three children’s hospitals.
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post, which read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Their romance began in 2023 after Kelce publicly announced on his podcast that he was interested in Swift, which she later said was a “wild, romantic gesture”.
Later that year, she was spotted watching one of his games, during which she was seen sitting next to his mother.
