Woman’s body found in flat sparking ‘unexplained’ death probe

The woman's body was found on Tuesday afternoon.

A woman has been found dead in a Glasgow flat.

The discovery was made on West Princes Street in the city’s Woodlands area at around 5.15pm on Tuesday.

Police are now investigating the “sudden death” that they say is being treated as “unexplained”.

Officers remained at the scene of the taped-off property until late on Tuesday night, with a cordon also set up and roads closed.

A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed the incident.

He said: “Officers are investigating following the sudden death of a woman who was found dead within a property in West Princes Street, Glasgow, at around 5.15pm on Tuesday.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out to establish the full circumstances.”
