A woman who died alongside a man in a three car crash in Annan has been named.

Melissa Delaney, 41, from Dumfries was pronounced dead at the scene of a three car collision that took place on the A75 near Annan at around 6.20am on Tuesday, January 13.

She was driving a Nissan Qashqai, with a Peugeot Boxer van and a Renault Clio also involved in the crash.

A 35-year-old man, driving the van, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The 49-year-old male driver of the Renault Clio was uninjured.

Police said both families have been made aware.

The road was closed for a number of hours while investigations were carried out and police say enquiries are ongoing.

Road policing inspector Adnan Alam said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the people who died, and all those involved in the collision.

“We continue to offer them support as our enquiries progress.

“I’d be keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or anyone with dashcam footage of the A75 around that time, please review your footage and bring anything of significance to our attention.”
