A woman took on a masked knifeman who barged into her family home.

The 43-year-old victim suffered a cut to her finger during the attempted robbery in East Dunbartonshire.

The incident happened in Lunan Drive, Bishopbriggs, at around 10.30pm on Friday.

The woman was within her house with four other family members when the man burst in.

The suspect was forced to leave empty-handed and was last seen running down a lane towards Letham Drive.

Police said enquiries are ongoing.

A force spokesperson said: “Around 10.30pm on Friday, May 29, a 43-year-old woman was within a house in Lunan Drive, Bishopbriggs, along with four family members when a masked man entered the house.

“He threatened the woman with a knife and made demands for property.

“The 43-year-old woman challenged the suspect and sustained a cut to her finger.

“The suspect then left the house empty-handed and was last seen running down a lane adjacent to the property from Lunan Drive towards Letham Drive.

“Enquiries are continuing.”
