A manhunt has been launched after a woman was “violently” pushed to the ground and robbed in Glasgow.

The 47-year-old victim had her mobile phone stolen from her hand during the attack in Anniesland Road in Knightswood at around 4.15pm on Monday.

The woman was walking near to Farmfoods when police say the robber pushed her “violently” from behind.

After snatching the phone, he then made off through a nearby park towards Kingsway Court.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

The suspect is believed to be in his teens or early 20s. He was described as slim, and was wearing a black bandana, black t-shirt, black zipped hoodie and black knee-length shorts.

PC Matthew McCann said: “This was a violent and unprovoked attack in broad daylight. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything in the area of Anniesland Road to contact us or who has any information that could aid our enquiries to come forward.

“We would also ask anyone who was driving in the area around that time to review any dashcam footage they may have and pass on anything which could assist our enquiry.”
