A woman has been taken to hospital after being pulled from a canal.
Emergency services were called to Kirkintilloch’s Southbank Road following reports of a person in the Forth and Clyde Canal around 5.10pm on Sunday.
A woman was taken to hospital following the incident. Her condition is currently unknown.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 5.10pm on Sunday, January 12, 2025, to a report of a person in the water near to Southbank Road, Kirkintilloch.
“Emergency services attended and a woman was taken to hospital.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.03pm on Sunday, January 12 to reports of a person in the water near Canal Bridge in Kirkintilloch.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances specialist resources to the scene.
“One person was removed from the water and placed to a position of safety before they were handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“Crews then left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
