A woman who was stabbed at a Tesco superstore in South Lanarkshire is in a ‘stable’ condition, police have confirmed.
The 25-year-old was attacked at the supermarket in Rutherglen shortly after 1.30pm on Saturday.
Eyewitnesses said the store was evacuated while police and ambulance crews tended to the woman.
She was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment, with hospital staff describing her condition as stable.
A 34-year-old man was arrested and later charged in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.
