A woman has been taken to hospital in serious condition after a three-car crash on the M74 in South Lanarkshire.
Emergency services were called to the crash involving a red Peugeot 3008, a silver Volvo XC60 and a blue Peugeot 308 between junctions 10 and 11 around 5.20pm on Sunday.
The passenger of the Peugeot 308, a 51-year-old woman, was taken to hospital where her condition was described as serious.
The driver of the Peugeot 308, a 56-year-old man, was also taken to hospital and later discharged.
The drivers and passengers of the other vehicles involved in the crash were assessed by paramedics for minor injuries.
The road was closed to allow enquiries to be carried out and reopened around 3am on April 7.
Police Scotland is urging anyone with information regarding the crash to come forward.
Sergeant Ross Allison said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are appealing to the public for information.
“If you saw anything then please get in touch. We are also asking drivers to check dash-cam to see if there is something recorded that could help our investigation.
“Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2492 of April 6, 2025.”
