A woman suffered a serious facial injury after being punched at a town centre taxi rank on Saturday night.
The assault on the 46-year-old happened on Stirling Street in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, at around 10.45pm.
She was taken to University Hospital Monklands and investigators want to speak to anyone who was in the taxi queue.
Police have asked anyone that may have seen the serious assault, especially if they were walking past of in the queue, to get in touch.
Detective constable David Williamson said: “This was a serious assault and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened, particularly if they were in the taxi queue or walking past at the time.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have been driving in the area and has dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation.
“Anyone who can help can contact us on 101, quoting incident 4329 of Saturday, July 10, 2021, or make a call anonymously to the charity CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.”
