A woman has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Dumbarton Road in Whiteinch around 6.15pm on Wednesday following reports of the collision.

The 63-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Her condition is currently unknown. The driver and passengers on the bus were uninjured.

The road was cordoned off by police following the crash with bus services in the area diverted while investigations took place.

Sergeant Nicholas Twigg said: “Enquiries are continuing into this crash.

“I would appeal to any witnesses or anyone driving on this road around the time of the crash who has dash-cam footage to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting reference number 2994 of January 24.”
