A woman who died in a three-vehicle crash near Glasgow has been named as 66-year-old Shamim Rashid.
Police Scotland confirmed the name of the woman following the fatal crash on August 30 which also resulted in a 70-year-old male passenger being rushed to hospital.
We previously told how the A725 Bellshill Bypass was closed for nine hours after the three-vehicle crash occurred at around 4.20pm.
Shamim Rashid, from Bellshill, was rushed the Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she later died.
The pensioner was also taken to hospital where his condition was described as “critical”.
Police say their investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Sergeant Gemma Blackadder said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Shamim.
“Our enquiries into the crash are ongoing and anyone with information or dashcam footage should contact officers on 101 quoting incident 2323 of August 30.”
