The 41-year-old pedestrian was on Lincoln Avenue, at its junction with Embo Drive, when the incident took place on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 7.30pm after the woman was struck by a grey Peugot 208.

Police are now looking to establish the full circumstances and the road was closed for an investigation to take place.

The woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where she is being treated for her injuries.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

Sergeant Neal Galbraith said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with us. I’d also like to ask any motorists with dash cam to check their footage as it could assist us in our ongoing enquiries.”
