A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash between a car and a van injured three people.

Police were called to reports of a two-vehicle crash on Minard Road in the city’s Southside at around 7.55pm on Thursday evening.

The stretch of the busy road between Pollokshaws Road to Waverley Street was closed off at around 8.50pm as emergency services were on the scene.

Police confirmed a male and female were involved, with the woman of the car taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

The male driver of the van is the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.

A third person was reported to have been injured as the road reopened to drivers at around 10.25pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving a car and a van on Minard Road, Glasgow, around 7.55pm on Thursday, February 15, 2024.

“The female driver of the car was taken to hospital for treatment.

“The male driver of the van is subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.

“Recovery of the vehicles was arranged.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 7.59pm on Thursday, February 15 to reports of a road traffic collision involving one private car and a large van on Minard Road, Glasgow.

“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene, where firefighters worked to make the area safe.

“Three casualties were reported and handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 8.05pm on Thursday to attend an incident on Minard Road, Shawlands, and transported one patient to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
