Woman in hospital and man arrested after police stand-off at Glasgow home

A woman has been taken to hospital, and a man has been arrested after a police stand-off at a home in Glasgow during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Emergency services were called to the address on Bellrock Street at around 6am on Thursday.

A woman has been taken to hospital following the incident. Officers have confirmed that a 40-year-old man was arrested in connection shortly after 11am.

He has also been taken to hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the full circumstances is ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6am on Thursday, May 7, 2026 officers were called to an address in Bellrock Street, Glasgow, following a report of a disturbance within.

“A woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Shortly after 11am, a 40-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. He has been taken to hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries remain ongoing.”
