A woman has been accused of displaying placards in an abortion safe zone.

Rose Docherty, 75, faces two charges under the Abortion Services (Safe Access) Scotland Act.

Court papers state that Docherty had placards of text in a safe access zone close to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

This is stated to have been done with the intention of influencing the decision of people to access, provide and facilitate the provision of abortion services at the protected premises.

The alleged offences are claimed to have happened on a number of occasions between September 24, 2024 and February 19, 2025.

Docherty made no plea at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Docherty, of Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, will appear at court at a hearing next month.
