A woman has died after being struck by a HGV on a road in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called to Saracen Street at around 11.20am on Tuesday after a pedestrian was struck by the vehicle, which was being driven by a 58-year-old man.
Officers shut the street between Possil Road and Balmore Road.
The woman, 68, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries remain ongoing.
Sergeant Chris McColm of the Road Policing Unit in Glasgow said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who died.
“Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.
“We urge anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us. We ask any drivers in Saracen Street around the time of the crash to check their dashcam footage and please get in touch if it holds anything which may be relevant to our investigation.”
