Woman dies after being found injured in 'suspicious' death

A woman has died after being found injured in Glasgow, with police treating the death as “suspicious”.

Emergency services were called around 4am on Saturday to a report of a woman injured in Cardowan Road in the Carntyne area of the city.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, with her death being treated as suspicious.

An investigation is underway with additional officers on patrol in the area.

Detective Inspector Gordon Walker said: “Around 4am, on Saturday, April 18, we received a report of a woman injured in Cardowan Road, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Her death is being treated as suspicious and an investigation is underway.

“Additional officers are on patrol in the area and anyone with concerns can approach them.”
