iStockAn elderly woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being hit by a car in Paisley.
The 88-year-old woman was on Causeyside Street, near the junction with Stow Brae, at around 12pm on Wednesday when she was hit by a Kia Picanto.
The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Her condition is described as critical.
No one else was injured.
The road was closed for investigations and reopened around 6pm.
Sergeant Fraser McEwan said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.
“If you were driving in the area, please also check any dash-cam you have to see if anything has been captured that could assist with our investigation.”
