An 86-year-old woman has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Hamilton.
The pensioner was struck by a red Peugeot on Douglas Park Lane, near Douglas Retail Park, at around 11.30am on Thursday.
She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment for what is described as serious injuries.
The road was closed to allow enquiries to be carried out and re-opened around 2pm.
Road Policing Sergeant Chris McColm said: “Our enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.”
