An 85-year-old woman who died after being hit by a van in Stranraer has been named.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Sheuchan Street at around 10.20am on January 3, involving a pedestrian and a white Vauxhall Vivaro van.
Margaret Joy Todd, known as Joy, died in hospital following the collision. The van driver was uninjured.
The road was closed for crash investigation work and reopened around 7.15pm later that day.
Sergeant Scott Costley said: “Our thoughts remain with Joy’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“We continue to investigate this crash and would ask anyone who saw what happened and hasn’t yet spoken to officers to please get in touch. Any relevant dash-cam or video footage should also be shared with us as soon as possible.”
