Woman, 65, in hospital after being struck by van

A woman has been left in hospital after being struck by a van in East Dunbartonshire.

Emergency services were called to Woodburn Way in Milngavie at around 4.25pm on Wednesday after a 65-year-old was struck by a white Ford Transit van.

The woman is in a stable condition after being taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the van was not injured.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us.

“The road was busy at the time and I would also appeal to any other drivers who were on the road around the time and who haven’t yet spoken to officers to get in touch.”
