A woman has been found dead at a property in Dumfries and Galloway.

Officers were called to the McDowall Drive area of Stranraer around 7.20pm on Saturday, March 9 following the sudden death of a 58-year-old woman.

Police said the woman’s death is being treated as “unexplained” and that enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.20pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024, police were called to the McDowall Drive area of Stranraer, following the sudden death of a 58-year-old woman.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
