Woman, 58, dies after being hit by car while on mobility scooter

The 58-year-old died in hospital two days after the crash in the Edinburgh Road area of Baillieston.

A woman has died after being hit by a car while on her mobility scooter in the Baillieston area of Glasgow.

The 58-year-old woman was involved in a crash with a white Ford Fiesta between Church Street and Edinburgh Road around 2pm on Friday, June 28.

She was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she died on Sunday, June 30.

The car driver, a 77-year-old man, was also taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

Road Policing Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died at what is a very difficult time for them.

“Our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances and anyone who has not already spoken to officers and can help with our investigation is asked to get in touch.”
