Two men sought after car set on fire on Christmas Eve

Shortly after 2am on Sunday, a white Skoda Octavia car was set on fire at a car park in Cumbernauld.

Police are looking for witnesses after a car was set alight in North Lanarkshire in the early hours of Christmas Eve.

Shortly after 2am on Sunday, a white Skoda Octavia car was set on fire at a car park in the Burns Road area of Cumbernauld.

Two men were seen in the area at the time. They made off in the direction of North Carbrain Road in the town.

Officers described one as dressed in dark clothing and carrying a white plastic carrier bag. The second man is also believed to have been wearing dark clothing.

Detective constable Craig Hartley said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has dash-cam or private CCTV that could help with our enquiries.

“We are also looking to speak to the men seen at the time or anyone who knows who they are or where they went.
