Winner stakes claim for near £58m EuroMillions jackpot

An appeal was made almost three weeks ago after the winning ticket had not been claimed.

A claim has been made for a near £58m EuroMillions jackpot from a lottery ticket bought in South Ayrshire.

An appeal was made almost three weeks ago after the winning ticket – from the draw on Tuesday, March 17 – had not been claimed.

However according to Camelot, the National Lottery operator, a claim has now been made for the ticket – worth a whopping £57,869,670.

The claim will now go through the process of validation. Once this is complete, the winner will decide whether or not to go public.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “It is fantastic news that a lucky ticket-holder has now claimed this enormous prize. We will now focus on supporting the ticket-holder through the process.

“During the current crisis, we’d like to encourage as many players as possible to check their tickets and play online or on the National Lottery app, and to only buy their tickets in retail or claim a retail prize if they are already in-store to do an essential shop.”
