Walker rescued from Conic Hill summit after suffering leg injury

The walker was rescued at around 11.28am on Sunday and transported to hospital.

A walker was rescued from the summit of Conic Hill after suffering a lower leg injury.

At 11.28am on Sunday, Lomond Mountain Rescue Team were called to a casualty who had sustained a lower leg injury whilst descending from the summit of the West Dunbartonshire mountain.

The walker received treatment before being carried down the hill, where he was transported to hospital.

A spokesperson for the team said: “With the majority of the team already attending our regular monthly training, a hasty team left for Conic whilst the remainder of the team derigged the rescue rigging scenarios before transferring to Conic Hill.

“After an assessment, pain relief and initial treatment were carried out before transfer back to the main car park and onward transport to hospital.”
