Three vehicles were torched outside a Glasgow cash and carry, with police treating the incidents as “suspicious”.

Officers were called to reports of vehicles on fire on Forth Street in Pollokshields after midnight on Saturday.

Images showed a white van fully torched with the vehicle’s interior hanging off the side outside the Strawberry Garden cash and carry.

Debris could be seen on the street with the vehicles being recovered and police still on the scene as of 1pm on Saturday.

The fires were extinguished by three appliances from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no injuries were reported.

However, officers say the incident is being treated as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.05am on Saturday, June 21, 2025, police received a report of three vehicles on fire in the Forth Street area of Glasgow.

“The fires were extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no injuries were reported.

“The incident is being treated as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing.”

A post by Strawberry Garden on Facebook read: “We’ve heard some news going around about a fire at Strawberry Garden last night.

“We want to let our dear customers and community know that this is not true.

“Strawberry Garden Cash & Carry and all our vehicles are safe and untouched.

“We are open as normal and ready to welcome you.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with our neighbours, whose vans were sadly set on fire.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “Around 12.08am Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to a report of three vehicles on fire on Forth Street, Glasgow.

“We mobilised three appliances to the scene. There were no reports of injuries.

“Crews left at 2.09am.”
